Lorin Gross

Lorin Gross was born on March 7, 1936 in Delray Beach, Florida to the late William D. and Carrie Lee Gross. Lorin was the eldest of seven children. His parents and five siblings preceded him in death.

Lorin received his early education at Spadey Elementary and Carver High School in Delray Beach Florida. Lorin accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. After graduation he attended Florida A&M University. After two years he relocated to Sacramento CA where he enlisted into the U.S. Army. After his tour in the army he was employed at McClellan AFB in Sacramento, California, his job transferred him to General Services Administration, San Francisco, CA where he met the love of his life Alice Mosley.

Lorin married Alice Mosley on September the 8, 1968. From this union three children were born Staci Jene’ Gross, Traci Jene’ Gross and Lance Darnell Gross. He attended Merritt College (Oakland CA).

December 20, 1969 Lorin received the Sacraments of the Roman Catholic Church. He served faithfully at St. Paschal’s Church and joined the Knights of Peter Cleaver.

Lorin retired after 43 years as a Contract Specialist from Military Sealift Command March 1996. The family moved to Las Vegas NV. June 1996. He and the family joined St. Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church.

He worked as a driving instructor for Safeway Driving School, he loved spending time with his family, friends and playing golf.

God called him home on April 5, 2017 at 1:20pm.

Lorin leaves to cherish his memories to his loving and devoted wife of 48 years Alice Gross, three loving and devoted children Staci Jene’ Gross, Traci Jene’ Gross and Lance Darnell Gross (Rebecca Gross). Three grandchildren Jaden Joshua Haskins, Kenadie Vernae Michael, Berkeley Brynn Gross, one sister Helen Rivers, one Aunt Birdie Conyers, four nieces, five nephews and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
