Born in Salisbury, North Carolina, Lynn graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Swarthmore College, entered the
Graduate School of the University of Wisconsin, where she met and married James F Hazen. Both later received PhD’s in English there.
She will be affectionately remembered by her husband Jim, brother Tam Shuford of Orlando, Florida, and his family, children Charles and Jessica Hazen, and grandchildren Katey Lynn Hazen and Vincent Jansen.
