

Maria Magdalena Bledsoe was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Maria will be remembered as a very exceptional person. She was born, June 1, 1934 in Neudorf, Poland, the daughter of Clara and George Worznik, and was raised with three siblings. She had an older brother Hubert, two younger brothers Peter and Rudolph, and one younger sister, Elsa. As a young girl, Maria had a number of interests. In her spare time she liked to read books and make her own fashions and clothes. As a typical teenager living in Europe, post-World War II, Maria had a fairly normal high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from High School in Berlin in 1952. Her favorite classes in high school were Math and English. She was always good with numbers and writing. In 1956 Maria exchanged wedding vows with Leon Alexander Bledsoe in The Military Chapel of Berlin, Germany. Empathic and loyal, Maria was committed to making her new family happy. Maria attended a professional management training program and subsequently became a Division Manager for many departments at Sears Roebuck and Co. Fortunately, Maria enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Maria worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was manager and she was part of the management training team. She was employed for 26 years with Sears Roebuck and Company. Though she never set out to gain individual recognition, Maria received many accolades for her accomplishments throughout her life. Some of her most prestigious awards were two-time “Manager of the Year,” and #1 in sales for three years in a row. Maria enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for her to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included going to Pebble Beach; the 17 mile drive, and San Luis Opisbo. When Maria retired in 1979, she was well prepared. Her new life involved relocating to Las Vegas. Maria passed away on February 27, 2015 at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was preceded in death by her sister, Elsa Santos. She is survived by her children, Peter and George Bledsoe; daughters-in-law, Robbie and Janet; grandchildren, Krystal, Prentice, Andrew, and Darren; her brothers, Hubert, Rudolph, and Peter. Services were held at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, Nevada, where she was laid to rest. Simply stated, Maria was a good and kind person, an individual who will be remembered by her family and friends as being an admirable and giving person, someone who was a vital part in their lives. Maria leaves behind a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Maria Magdalena Bledsoe.
