

Mary moved to California at the age of 17 where she began building her life and future. Though she made her home elsewhere, Nebraska was always held close to her heart. The love for her hometown and family in Omaha remain strong throughout her life.
Mary dedicated her career to telecommunication working for the Pacific telephones, telegraph companies, and VA hospital as a receptionist. She was known for her strong work ethic, as well as her vibrant and joyful spirit.
Mary was strong, independent and a beautiful woman who loved the Lord and found joy in attending church. She had deep love for music, especially jazz and oldies, and she could often be found dancing and enjoying life. She was also a passionate football fan who loved the Kansas City Chiefs. She enjoyed watching college and professional football games.
Family was most important to her, and she treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. She loved hosting family gatherings, especially during the holidays, cooking gumbo on New Year’s and celebrating her birthday, surrounded by those she loved.
Mary cherish her role as “Mimi” a name lovingly given to her by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she especially treasured the time she spent with them, creating lasting memories, filled with love. Her weekly Sunday phone calls will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family. She also enjoyed being part of a women’s group where she found connections and community.

Those who proceeded Mary in death are her mother Bernice Rhinehart and her Uncle James “Uncle Jimmy” Dorsey Sr. And brother Gerald Davis Sr.
She is survived by her son, Michael Dennis Sr. (Tamara), seven grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, cousins and friends all whom will continue to carry her love and legacy forward.
