Mary-Jean “Jean” Ang Hidalgo, 71, of North Las Vegas, NV passed away on April 16, 2026. Born on March 8, 1955 to Jose and Conchita Ang, she graduated from St. Scholastica High School and the University of the Philippines. Her career in healthcare business administration spanned over thirty years at Cardiovascular Medical Group of Southern California and Foothill Cardiology.
Jean is survived by her husband Virgilio “Joe” Hidalgo, son Virgil Hidalgo (Connie), and grandson Connor Hidalgo. She is also survived by her sister Lillian Soriano, brother Rene Ang, and beloved nieces Aileen Soriano-Pisaturo (John Pisaturo and child John Jacob “JJ”) and Czarina Soriano-Uy (Jan Uy and child Miguel). She is preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Alberto “Bert” Soriano.
Jean was a loving wife to Joe throughout forty-six years of marriage. She cared for him by preparing foods tailored to his specific diet, enabling his daily exercise regimen, and reducing her work hours to spend more time at his side after he was diagnosed with kidney cancer.
As a mother, Jean cherished her son, raising him to be self-reliant and resourceful. She sacrificed establishing her career for three years to be with him as a baby and toddler. She protected him from the hardships that came with being an immigrant family establishing themselves in the United States.
Jean was a devout and prayerful Catholic who affirmed the Divine Mercy through prayer and example. She served at the church as a Eucharistic Minister.
Jean loved to travel, especially to Europe. She cruised along the Rhine and Danube Rivers through Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, and Hungary. She also toured London, Rome, Paris, Lourdes (France), and the Vatican.
Finally, Jean was a strong and passionate woman who strived for success in her career. She mastered the processes of her industry, empowered her colleagues, and mentored the next generation.
