

Michael “Mike” Kenneth Jeffers, 81, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2017. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 8901 Del Webb Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada, with private burial after the service at Palm Northwest Mortuary & Cemetery, Las Vegas, Nevada. Mike was born July 25, 1936, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Kenneth and Agnes Jeffers. He graduated from military school in 1954 and while he was attending Kansas University, he met and married his sweetheart, Judith Ella, on August 16, 1956. Mike worked for McCall’s and Redbook Magazines for over 25 years and in his later years, he owned his own furniture refinishing business and was a general contractor before retiring. Mike loved to bowl and sing in the choir at church, and he had a love of sports, especially football. He had a knack for making people laugh with his jokes and his sense of humor. His infectious laughter will truly be missed. Mike is survived by his wife Judith of 61 years, his daughter, Mary Bishop, of Burlingame, California, his daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Javier Battle, of Antioch, California, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nephews and one niece. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Agnes and his sister Patsy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 8901 Del Webb Boulevard, Las Vegas, Nevada.
