

Michael James Morey , age 52, of Las Vegas NV, passed away Friday, September 4, 2015. Born in Jackson, Michigan on November 16, 1962 to James and RaeLene Morey, Michael was a scholar, respected attorney, gifted actor, competitive martial artist, a loyal and committed family member and friend. Michael grew up in a military family and resided in California, Nebraska, Germany and Colorado. He also served in the military as an Army artillery officer and military police officer. He served his country in Oklahoma, the DMZ in Korea and Colorado. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver in 1997, shortly after he relocated to Las Vegas, NV and pursued a career in law. He was a distinguished attorney, fiercely advocating and protecting the legal rights of those he served. Michael also enjoyed the dramatic arts and was pursuing an acting career. He was cast in Sterling Silver (2015), and was preparing for his film debut in 1 Interrogation (2016). Although he was not able to complete filming he will be remembered for his positive attitude and energy he brought to the project and those around him. In addition to being an attorney and actor Michael was a competitive martial artist winning several local and national titles in Judo, an avid sports fan especially of the Denver Broncos and a beloved friend and family member. Michael is survived by his father, James Morey of Middlebrook Missouri, his Mother, RaeLene Morey of Commerce City Colorado, his son Tyler Morey of Grand Junction Colorado, his sister Cynthia Kelley and his brother-in-law Troy Kelley of Commerce City Colorado. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 September 17, 2015 at the Palm Downtown Mortuary in Las Vegas, Nevada. Interment of ashes at a later date in Colorado.
