

Michael Alano Portaro, age 22, lived life to the fullest and died pursuing the passion of his heart, his music. "Mikey P" and his music now live on with God in Heaven. Mike was a star in many ways, in family, friends, life and football. He will be remembered as a best friend of many and good friend to all. Michael made people laugh, always leaving them with a smile on their face. Michael was loved by his parents, Richard and Cynthia as much as any parent could love their child. His love for his parents; brothers, Rico and Joe; and sisters, Maressa, Christina and Jill was like no other. Michael is loved by his family deeply and will be missed by nephew, Braden; nieces, Brenna and Briley; uncles, Ron, Rob, Ryan and Stephen; aunts, Jennifer and Robin; grandparents, Joan and Roy Baldarama, Richard D. Portaro Sr. and Joanne Silver.
Michael led Faith Lutheran's football team as quarterback, graduating in 2006. After graduation, Michael attended Santa Barbara City College and played quarterback for the team. Mike was loved by all, family, friends and everyone he touched.
Viewing will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, April 4, at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. There will be a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at Faith Lutheran High School Chapel. Following the service, there will be a balloon release on the football field.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Michael Portaro Fund and delivered or mailed to Faith Lutheran High School, 2015 S. Hulapai Way, Las Vegas, NV 89117.
