Modena was born in Shell Knob, Missouri on October 24, 1935 to Golda Manecie and Granville Redmon. She grew up in Erick, Oklahoma and later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada . She retired from Office Depot in 2005. Modena loved to work in her gardens and care for her roses. She traveled with her husband and loved to go antiquing with her sister Gail, when visiting in Oklahoma. She also hosted many family gatherings over the years and visited often with her sister Fay and her family. Over the years she spent many hours helping to care for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her husband James Downs and her daughters; Patty Lynn, Jackie, and Linda.
She is survived by her son James B Downs (wife LeCindie), many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Services will be held July 7, 2023 at Palm Northwest Mortuary, with burial to follow at Bunker's Eden Vale Cemetery.
