Monica Therese Blake

Monica Therese Blake passed away on May 13, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nevada.  She was born on February 14, 1948, in Akron, Ohio, to Frank and Rose Caetta.  She was a cook at Cedar Canyon elementary school in Gering, Nebraska, until she retired in Las Vegas, Nevada. Monica loved to cook.  Her home-cooked meals kept the family happy, and her cookies and cakes were legendary.  She also loved being with her family and friends.  She found passion in working in their yard and on their home with her husband, Craig.  She was a wonderful person who always tried to help and care for people in any way she could.  She had a beautiful smile that could light up a room.  She will be missed and loved by her family and friends, and she will be forever in our hearts. She is survived by her husband, Craig Blake, the two being together for 27 years; they finally tied the knot on March 19, 2011.  Monica was divorced from Gary Schlager, who passed in 2009.  Monica had two sons, Gary Jr. and Jared (Danae) Schlager, who currently live in Las Vegas, Nevada, stepchildren, Chris & Morgan Matthews of Las Vegas, Ryan Blake of Gering, Nebraska, step grandchildren, Schyler and Zak Blake of Gering, Nebraska, Haiden & Madison Matthews of Las Vegas, and brothers and sisters Susie, Chris, Judy, Maria, Robby, Kathy, Patty, Mickey, Dennis, John, and Danny.
