

Nelson was born at the Memorial Hospital of the Japanese Community in Los Angeles, California, on January 3, 1962. He graduated from California State University (Los Angeles) in 1985 and worked tenaciously across different sales jobs ranging from retail to technology.
Nelson and Alice Cablayan had two kids, Derek and Brooke Oshita. He and his two children eventually moved away from Southern California together to Las Vegas, NV, where he resided until his departure.
Nelson Oshita was a beautiful human being. He possessed a rare and extraordinary charisma that naturally attracted people of all different ages and backgrounds. His heart was mighty, always serving his loved ones with an unparalleled sense of loyalty and compassion. We knew we could trust him with anything. We knew we could rely on him for everything. The memory of Nelson’s dazzling personality will continue to shine bright through all of us, as we recall the shakes of laughter in our bellies and the radiant smiles he put on our faces.
Nelson was preceded in death by his sister, Christine, and his mother, Eleanor. He is survived by his father, Richard, his brother, Yancy, and his two children, Brooke and Derek. A funeral service will be streamed via the Palm Cheyenne Mortuary Facebook page on Saturday, August 20th, at 11 a.m. PST.
A memorial visitations for Nelson will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129, followed by a prayer service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
