Nora was born on November 9, 1932 in Fort Stotsenburg, Philippines to Pedro Roque, a school superintendent and Petra Villenueva Roque, a barrio captain in Margot, Angeles City. Nora was the youngest of nine children. Because her mother only allowed her to go to school and church, her father would spoil her. One of her fondest memories when she was young was play fighting with her older brother, Don.
She graduated high school from Far Eastern University at the age of 17 and shortly after married Rudolph Antonio Doliente. They were married for 66 years until he passed away in 2016.
Nora migrated to the U.S. in 1980. She was encouraged to work by her older sister to prepare for retirement. After working at Granny Goose, a potato chip company, for a short time she became a housekeeper at Fort Mason Officer’s Club until her retirement in 1995.
Nora was a longtime resident of Oakland, California before she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2020. Nora enjoyed shopping, doing word search puzzles, and playing her favorite game of Mahjong, always with the television on in the background. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren became familiar with her favorite game shows and TV shows. An avid sports fan, she collected a number of favorite teams based on the various places she lived: Oakland Athletics, San Francisco Giants, Arizona Cardinals, Arizona Diamondbacks, Las Vegas Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns. She couldn’t decide which teams to root for if her favorite teams were playing each other. Nora was a devout Catholic who attended mass regularly and recited the rosary everyday.
Nora was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and husband.
She is survived by her children, Julie Doliente (William), Emilie Manabat (Roger), Reggie Doliente (Cathy) , Sally Doliente; grandchildren Alan Walter Manabat (Manuel-close friend), Aris Manabat, Andrew Manabat (Erica), Harry Doliente (Marivic), Aljereau Manabat (Clay-close friend), Jorelyn Sibal (Marvic), Rezaleen Doliente, Melanie Taylor (Joseph Sr.), Alein Manabat (Shiella), Maylee Manabat, Venice Albania (Justin-close friend); great-grandchildren Arshenne Manabat, Leilah Doliente, Isaiah Gabryle Manabat, Joseph Taylor Jr., Liliana Doliente, Emma Lopez, Josiah Taylor, Jandrick Gabryle Manabat, Rudy Christian Doliente, Malia Taylor, Mason Jarvis Sibal, Maika Taylor, Janzen Gabriel Manabat and Michael Sibal and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
