Farewell to a '59 LVHS classmate, fellow "Desert Breezer," and all around nice guy, with a mildly wicked sense of humor (as I recall), which I much appreciated.

I would like to express my sincere sympathy for the passing of a really great man.   I was a student of his at Clark High School and he really put up with quite a bit from me and did it with patience and understanding.  The funny side was he thought I was a very attentive student until he found out I was always asleep in his class and using my glasses to reflect the celling lights so he couldn't see my eyes.  He didn't get mad just laughed so loud it woke me up.  I worked full time after school and didn't get home until after midnight.  He finally had to remove me from his class for trying, and succeeding, in making a small batch of contact explosive in lab.   I was sentenced to be the shop assistant for Mr. Oldham in metal shop and was never permitted anywhere near chemistry again, for obvious good reason).  Not many people thought I would amount to much in life except Mr. Johnson, he never gave up on me and always had encouraging words when we met in the halls.   I'm now approaching the end of my own career as a senior engineer in the R&D department of a major semiconductor manufacturer.

I remember all the times you would come into Claire's to get flowers for your class.  And then...you came and worked whenever you had the extra time.  I am so sorry to hear of your passing.  I missed the service and had I know I would have been there with a large, colorful, unusual flowers only arrangement just for you.  Norm, you were always positive and the best.

I moved to Las Vegas in 1968 and Mr. Johnson was my science teacher.  He was one of my favorite teachers.  He made science interesting and fun.  I especially enjoyed all the Disney nature films he showed.  Guess he liked them too.  He always sat with us and watched them.

I knew Norman since we went to Las Vegas High School.  Norman was famous for his float making talent both in high school and at Nevada Southern University (UNLV).  If heaven has float making contests, I am sure Norman will be decorating and stuffing beautiful napkins.

A wonderful teacher who inspired and challenged me to love Zoology at Clark. My condolences to his family on their loss.

I am sorry for your loss. He was my teacher at Clark more than 40 years ago and a really good teacher.

I have appreciated Norm's friendship since our days at Las Vegas High School and UNLV.  He was always friendly and busily involved in many activities.  We have enjoyed renewing that friendship at school reunions.  My sincere condolences go to his family and many friends.  He will be greatly missed.

I have fond memories of Wally, Norm and Nora from the old neighborhood.  Norm was the best dancer during high school, especially polka!  Fun times.  My condolences to his family.

Mr. Johnson was one of a staff of excellent science teachers at Clark High when I attended in the 1970's. He also attended our 35th class reunion in 2010. Mr. Johnson was a dedicated professional who loved teaching and bled Charger Black and Gold right along with his students. He helped make my Clark High experience a very positive one. My deepest condolences to his family.

Norman was a good friend to me.  We used to sit and talk for hours.  I spent a lot of time at their house.  He was great guy.

For years I would enjoy the holiday decorations that Norm would display at the Family Courthouse.  They were amazing and displayed with care.  The decorations were tasteful and elegant.  He certainly helped bring the holiday cheer to the family courthouse where cheer may be on short supply.  

Norm's thoughtfulness and willingness to help others was not only displayed at the holidays, but permeated from his being throughout the year.  Norm's volunteering in the Guardianship Department for over a decade certainly helped it function.  Throughout the years, Norm's calm and professional demeanor coupled with his hard work was certainly appreciated by my colleagues and me.  

Norm will truly be missed.  Thank you for all that you contributed to Clark County not only in the court system but in the education of many in the Clark County School District.  Your legacy will live in my fond memories and appreciation of your work.

Thank you, Norm for being such a special friend to me.  He was always a bright spot when we were students at NSU and while both teachers at Clark H.S.  He arranged flowers for my wedding and helped with my mother's funeral. He leaves a legacy of mentoring so many. My sympathy to Norm's family and to all the many loved ones he leaves behind.

Norman, thank you for being my friend! You are one of the most generous and kind people I have ever known. Most of all, I will miss your sense of humor, the many, many conversations we had, and the times we shared together. You will be in my heart forever.

Taught with Norm at Clark High School. Norm would always decorate his classroom for Christmas. Having a warm and inviting atmosphere created a positive tone with students / teachers. Amazing science teacher and advocate for many low income students.

I am so sadden to hear of the passing of one of my favorite teachers at Clark High.  Mr. Johnson was so much fun in Science class and always with a smile or a laugh.  
The last time I saw him was at one of our class reunions where he reminded me about the time I tried to get out of a large science project by saying that my mom had been in a bad car crash only to have him somehow meet her for the first time a week later at Wonder World with him asking her how she was doing since the accident.  OOPS!  We laughed at how long I got grounded for that stunt.

Such a sad day to hear this. Knew him and his family since we all lived in California as our fathers worked together on the railroad. He also taught my son Rob and his wife Diane in high school and they really liked him, said he was a great teacher.So sorry Walley and Nora.

Norman was a kind and generous friend. He had an appreciation for life whether it be food, plays, or his garden. I will miss him at our lunches. Kevin, you were an amazing nephew.  You and your family have my deepest sympathy.

Norman was a great guy whom I knew since childhood days when I knew the family as neighbors on so. 7th. And was friends with his sister Nora .  He was very good to his mom too.  My sympathy and condolences to Nora and Wally.

Norm was the sweetest and most generous friend to everyone who had the honor of knowing him. He was always a wealth of information and conversation, and made sure all of his co-workers had more candy available to them then they could ever eat!  He definitely enjoyed his friends and his life to the fullest.  Gina and I will miss you dearly.  Rest in Peace.  We love you.

One of my favorite teachers at Clark.  He really helped spur my love of science...and he put up with all of our silliness which was a lot back in the days.  Rest in peace Norm.

Norm was a devoted friend, this I know as he was one of my mother's closest right up until her passing. Visiting her often bringing food, flowers and making her feel loved. I will always remember and be grateful to him for that. He was exceptional.

Norm, it was a pleasure to work with you in the Guardianship Office while being a Court Clerk.  I remember your desk was always filled with candy in your candy dish...  It's time to take your rest now.  You worked hard and deserve it. My thoughts and prayers are with the Johnson Family.
