Patricia Bickhart passed away Wednesday, 2/12/25 peacefully in her sleep at her Assisted Living facility. She was almost 83. She is survived by her brother Charles, her three nephews Aaron, Christopher, and Lucas, and her grand-nieces Penelope and Cora.
Patricia, or Pat, or Trish as she liked to be called by the nephews, was a long-time teacher. She studied at Arizona State University where she earned her Masters of Education. She worked for almost 50 years, retiring from two different states. Pat left her Richfield, Minnesota schools after 25 years to care for her ailing parents in Las Vegas. She taught in Vegas for another 20 years after her first retirement.
Ms. Bickhart was beloved by her fellow staff and so many students over the years. She was a fierce advocate for all children. She would never give up on them and regularly took on students that other teachers struggled connecting with. She guided them with so much love that they had no choice but to submit to her care.
Some of Pat’s hobbies over the years included swimming, cross-country skiing, kayaking, traveling with friends, and humor. Her laugh was contagious and gravitated people toward her. She was a source of joy and an inspiration for many. She enjoyed novelty car horns and comedic knick knacks.
Pat was a fighter. She fought cancer for 10 years with her bare hands. She never gave into it, even in her last days. In fact, it is not clear that it was her cause of death.
Patricia Bickhart was a giver. She loved those around her immensely and ceaselessly. She will be missed. Everyone that knew her is grateful for that fact.
A service and viewing will be held at Palm Downtown Mortuary and Cemetery on the 4th of March at 1pm (viewing begins at 11am). Her burial will be at 3pm of that same day at the Palm Northwest Mortuary and Cemetery.
