Peggy Herr, 78, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on April 16, 2019. Peggy was the Current District 5 President of the Auxiliary and past President of VFW Post 12093 Auxiliary. Peggy was very active in her community especially with the VFW Auxiliary and was always present for their events. Peggy was diagnosed in 2003 with myelofibrosis (bone marrow disease) and subsequently had a stem cell transplant in 2004 at City of Hope Hospital in Duarte, California, donated from a young man in Texas. Due to this wonderful procedure, we were fortunate enough to have her another 15 years. She continued to mentor other people with this ugly disease to provide hope and support for survival. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Vernis and Charlotte Swank. Peggy is survived by her husband, Fred; her 3 daughters, Cindy Dilworth, Carla Woyden and Lisa Mattern; her step son, Judson Herr; 7 grandchildren, Harry Dilworth, Eric Woyden, Michael Woyden, Maria Woyden, David Woyden, Alisha Mattern and Hunter Herr; and her sister, Nancy Poliquin. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 2:00PM with a Funeral Service to follow at 3PM at Palm Northwest Mortuary, 6701 N Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VFW Post 12093 Auxiliary or City of Hope.
