Penny Weinstein was born on February 18, 1944. She grew up as Penny Smithline in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of a well-respected lawyer and the granddaughter of a prominent doctor. She grew up in a loving household and had a carefree and joyful childhood. Penny married her husband, Richie, in 1965 and they settled in the small town of Fair Lawn, New Jersey. They raised two children, Larry and Cindy, before eventually moving to Las Vegas.
Penny made an indelible impression on everyone she met. As a result of her warm and exuberant personality, she was often the center of attention. She had a sparkle in her eye and a perpetual smile on her face. Penny always kept active and enjoyed dancing, Zumba, and socializing. Even as she got older, she maintained a young spirit. She had a glitzy style and a boundless amount of energy.
Penny was a loyal friend and devoted wife and mother. She and Richie were happily married for close to 58 years before she had a tragic and disabling fall that was followed by Richie’s untimely death in May. The sadness of her passing is tempered by the knowledge that she has rejoined her beloved husband and parents in heaven.
