

Raymond Murphy Jr., 61, of Las Vegas, passed away Aug. 1, 2013. He was born Sept. 30, 1951, in Everett, Mass., was a 16-year resident of Las Vegas, and resided in Raymond, N.H. from 1983 to 1994. He graduated from Medford High School in 1969, attended Wentworth College in Boston, and the University of Wisconsin. He worked in the hospitality field at Riverside Casino in Laughlin with Boyd Gaming and the Las Vegas Hilton. He was currently employed with Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughter, Shauna Murphy of Las Vegas; grandsons, Sean and Ryan of Las Vegas; stepdaughters, Danette Bashaw of St. Johnsbury, Vt., and Renee Marshall of Beverly, Mass.; stepsons, Gregory Marshall of Las Vegas, and Shaine Marshall of Pallyup, Wash.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Judith A. Healy (Edward) of Townsend, Mass.; aunts, Theresa Murphy and Muriel Quigley, both of Peabody, Mass.; niece, Laura M. Herter (Michael) of Lunenburg, Mass.; nephew, Edward J. Healy Jr. (Mary) of Lancaster, Mass.; four grandnephews; and three grandnieces.. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, both at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
