Raymond Dale Blakley, 67, passed away on April 13, 2026 in Reno, Nevada. Born February 4, 1959, in Santa Maria, California, Raymond built a life defined by steady service, quiet strength, and a warm, good-natured spirit that stayed with him through every season of life.
Raymond graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. He went on to devote most of his working life to law enforcement, serving as a police officer with professionalism and commitment. Those who knew him recognized not only his sense of duty, but also the kindness that guided the way he treated others, and the humor that could ease a difficult moment without ever diminishing its seriousness.
In his career, Raymond took particular pride in finding and arresting one of America’s Most Wanted criminals—an achievement that reflected his determination and careful resolve, and the deep responsibility he felt to protect the community he served.
Beyond his work, Raymond’s heart was drawn to the simple joys that make a life rich. He loved animals, and he found genuine enjoyment in sports, especially baseball and football. He followed the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Kansas City Chiefs with loyal enthusiasm, appreciating the tradition, competition, and camaraderie that came with being a devoted fan.
Raymond is survived by his loving mother, Beverley Terry, and his beloved daughter, Danielle Higginbottom.
