Richard William Berg, Sr. was born on February 3, 1938 in Woodside, Queens in New York City and grew up in West New York, N.J. He served 6 years in the U.S. Army at Fort Dix, N.J. He raised his family in Tuckerton, N.J. and then moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1996.
He was known for his entrepreneurial spirit and his love of Basketball. His most cherished accomplishment was scoring 101 points in a single game. Richard was employed as a chauffeur for various casinos in Atlantic City and Las Vegas and prided himself on his customer service.
He is survived by his loving wife Phyllis of 49 years; Sister Marie Esposito and Brother William Berg, both of Toms River, N.J.; his 3 sons Richard, Dennis and Robert; as well as 5 grandchildren Michael, Adam, Sara, Nia and Nicky. His dog and best friend Buddy will miss him too.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11:00am at Palm Mortuary Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131.
