

Richard Gerard "Dick" or "Doobie" Romeo, 52, of Las Vegas, passed away April 2, 2011. He was born September 29, 1958, in Lake Arrowhead, California, and was a 50-year resident of Nevada. He graduated from Bishop Gorman High School in 1977. He earned a football scholarship to Taft Junior College in Taft, California (1977-1979) and also attended the University of Wyoming, where he started as a "nose guard" on the defense in 1979. Most recently, he had been doing independent I.T. work and also worked as an independent booking agent for travel, rooms and Las Vegas show reservations. He had just recently retired on disability. Dick was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Donald J. Romeo; mother, Barbara L. Romeo; and three siblings, brothers, Stephen and Tom; and sister, Terry. He is survived by his wife, Laura; sisters, Marcy Humm (Tom), Patricia, Mary Kathryn "Katie" Jones and Paula "Polly" Becker (Rob); brothers, Michael, Donald J. Jr. "Cheech" (Teri) and Mark "Begas". He is also survived by 15 cousins; 17 nieces and nephews; stepdaughter, Brandie; stepson, Jeremy; and stepgranddaughter, Olivia. He also left behind his beloved dog, "Mighty Mouse". Visitation will be 10:00am -11:00am Friday, April 8, 2011 with Memorial Mass following, both at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive.
