Robert M. Hayat, 60, an optician, of North Las Vegas, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2012. He was born May 18, 1952, in Paris, France, and was a 17-year resident of Nevada. Robert is survived by his wife, Beryl Feigen Hayat; daughter, Melanie Klinghoffer of Alexandria, Va.; son, Matthew Hayat of Belleville, N.J.; brothers, Paul (Toni) Hayat of Paris, and Fernand Hayat of France; sister, Claudine of Israel; sisters-in-law, Caryl, Linda and Liz; many loving nieces and nephews; and honorary brother, Michel (Janis) Goldkind. He was preceded in death by his sister, Vivian. Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society .
