

Rodney Sinclair “Rod” Conant, 66, passed away May 14, 2013. He was born in Baton Rouge, LA and was the son of Janie and Lewis Conant. As an army brat, he lived in many places until his family settled in Las Vegas in 1959. He graduated from Western High School where he played football and then proudly served his country, joining the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He graduated from UNLV and went on to become a Certified Public Accountant. He was the managing partner of the firm Conant, Nelson & Conant, Ltd. A hard-working and smart accountant, a caring co-worker and boss, an adoring husband, a loving father and a good friend of many, he will surely be missed. He had a passion for golf and enjoyed every round he ever played but especially the ones with his closest friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Patrick. He is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Diane, his daughter, Marci, son, Kevin and brothers, Claire Conant and Michael Haden. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 25 at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
