Mario was born on March 15, 1978 to Samuel Howland and Elizabeth G. Howland in St. Louis, Missouri. While he was very young, his mother relocated the family to Las Vegas, Nevada where he would grow up and spend his last days.
Mario worked for Consumers Pipe and Supply for nearly 20 years where he planned to retire. He was a huge asset to the company and revered by his peers. He is remembered as being an extraordinary human that exemplified leadership qualities and resilience, and will be deeply missed by his CPS family and the PVF community. His wife Tonia, of 16 years describes him as an angel who brightens and blesses everyone’s life he comes across with his generosity and love for life. He loved to travel, attend his kids sporting events, car shows and quality time with his fur babies, Charlie and Coco. Mario was down to earth, and humble in all aspects of his life and always put his family’s needs above all else. He had a bright and energetic personality and an ability to make anyone smile. We love and miss him beyond comprehension and will continue to celebrate his life and legacy.
I Wish We Knew - By Tonia Howland
I wish we knew when it was our time to go.
So we can say our goodbyes before our lights dim low.
Travel the world and see new places.
Meet new people along with old faces.
Righting our wrongs and making things right.
So their last memories won’t be a bad fight.
Kissing and loving on our families.
Knowing that we loved them happily.
Not putting off what we can do today, because tomorrow isn’t promised.
But living in the moment because time is beyond us.
Hold your loved ones tight and never let go.
Until god calls them home, we just don’t know.
The hour nor the day, it’s been preordained.
For them to rest among the stars, where they will remain.
I wish we knew when it was our time to go, but I’ll see you in heaven shouting Hello.
