

Shade Wilson, Jr, eighty-three, was born on Friday, May 27, 1938 in Neptune, Tennessee to the late Shade Wilson, Sr and Nannie Bowers Owens. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at a young age. Shade served as a Fire Fighter in the United States Air Force for twenty years. During his military retirement, he decided to begin a new career with the United States Postal Service to which he worked for 15 years until his final retirement. Shade was a devoted member of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc.
Now the LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; therefore, on Tuesday, October 16, 1962 in Champaign, Illinois; Shade Wilson was united in Holy Matrimony to Miss Venetta O’Neal. He remained in this union for nearly sixty years, until his earthly departure.
On Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 2:03pm, Shade Wilson bid this earthly experience farewell. He leaves a legacy of memories to be cherished by his lovely wife Venetta Wilson, one son, Shade Wilson III of Las Vegas, and two daughters, Janeelita Wilson and Alice (Wilson) McCain both of Las Vegas; four brothers Jim Wilson, Darrell Wilson, James “Squeaky” Wilson and Maurice Wilson; two sisters Linda Faye Guinn and Janice Wilson and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles and many other relatives and friends. Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by both parents, one sister, Donna Owens; one brother Tommie Wilson; one grandson Don’Trannell Wilson and one granddaughter Anjalita Ta’Vaya Wilson.
