Shirlene was beacon of nurturing love and community spirit which passed away on November 26, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 30, 1942 to Pearlene and Frank Thweatt. Shirlene was number 2 of her loving siblings.
Shirlene’s early years were spent in the warm embrace with her 4 siblings (Frances, Lynda, Jacqueline & Tami). She was a graduate from Parker High School and obtained an AA Degree from Wilson Jr. College. She worked various jobs but found her passion while working with TWA Airlines where she was able to fly anywhere at anytime. Upon her retirement from TWA she pursued a second career with Chicago Public Schools where you worked as a Hearing and Vision Tech servicing many students at all grades.
Shirlene’s life blossomed when She married Jimmy Taylor. They did not have children together, they loved all their nieces and nephews. Her nephew, Michael Pippion, who resided in Las Vegas, cared for her during her final days of life.
Shirlene went through many health challenges and issues throughout the later part of her life. However, she continued to fight and move forward with her life. She continued with her great spirit until her heart begin to decline. Shirlene was a strong loving individual that would give you her last and go that extra mile to help anyone. She loved God and continued to believe she would be able to get well and resume her normal activities.
Shirlene V. Thweatt Taylor’s story and the way she lived was of love, care and giving. A life that will continue to be remembered. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever bloom in the hearts of her relatives and friends.
