Shirley Sarles

Shirley Sarles, age 78, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023. Shirley was born in Rich Township, Michigan on November 22, 1944. Shirley lived in Silverwood, Michigan until 1993 when she and Jeff retired and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jeff Sarles, her daughter Anne Cook (Sarles), her son Michael Sarles and her grandson Aaron Cook. She was preceded in death by her parents, C.J. Thompson, and Anna Thompson (Rozanski).

On October 12, 1963, Shirley married Jeff Sarles. He worked at Buick, General Motors Division in Flint, Michigan until he retired. She was a homemaker, cared for her family and enjoyed being a stay-at-home wife and mother. She gave the best hugs and loved unconditionally. She could easily coax a laugh out of people, and she was loved, by all she met.

After retirement, Shirley and Jeff moved to Las Vegas, NV. Her family followed, and Shirley was ecstatic to be near her entire immediate family. Shirley enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening and watching all of the birds she fed, particularly hummingbirds. She also specially enjoyed our many loving family gatherings at her home, whether it was a holiday, a birthday or "just because." She was truly one-of-a-kind and will be missed by all who knew her.
