She was born December 11, 1938 in Pekin Illinois to Florian and Helen Rak. She found the love of her life Samuel Weaver in Las Vegas whom she married.
Sonja was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a hard-working mother who at times worked multiple jobs to care for her family which was her most important purpose in life.
She lived long enough to see her family grow to five generations. Sonja was the rock of her entire family and her mischievous smile would light up a room.
Although petite in size Her spirit was fierce in protection of her family. Anyone who came in contact with her couldn’t help but fall in love with her instantly. She was the mother and grandmother to the entire neighborhood. She loved music and had a passion for dance since she was a small child which she shared with her children and grandchildren. You would always catch her dancing with one of her grandchildren.
She is survived by husband Samuel Weaver, sister Jaynee Shaw, 3 children Debra Blust, Dawn Henriksen and Byron Blust, 7 Grandchildren Rebecca Coins, Bret Henriksen Jr, Brandon Blust, Ryan Blust, Stefanie Reed, Royce Blust and Jordyn Blust, 11 Great grandchildren Tyler, Jakob, Kayla, Ashton, Layla, Jaidyn, Jade, Briannah, Ryker, Rennik and Austin and 1 Great great grandson Jaxon all who loved her and brought great joy to her life and will miss her deeply.
She is also survived by her honorary children and Weaver family whom she loved : Children; Nathaniel Weaver, Inez Washington, Cresentra Weaver, Samuel Weaver, Mattie Branch, Timothy Bradley and 14 grandchildren, 43 Great grandchildren and 12 Great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM June 2 at Palm Mortuary 1600 South Jones Blvd. Burial will be held at 12 PM at Veteran’s Cemetery in Boulder City.
