Susan Torpey Smith

Susan Torpey Smith passed away on October 30, 2020 at age 73. Susan was born and raised in Spokane, Washington and later moved to Seattle, Washington. She enjoyed swimming and bowling when she was younger and loved visiting Priest Lake, Idaho during the summer to swim and visit with family. She enjoyed Elvis Presley songs and John Wayne movies. The last few years she also took up painting with watercolors.

She worked a number of jobs in Seattle before settling in Ely, Nevada where she worked in the family motel business for 14 years until her retirement. She moved to Las Vegas in 2002 to be near her brother John and lived there until she passed.

Preceded in death by her father, Roy R Torpey, and her mother, Isabel Geiger, and stepfather Clayton P Geiger.

Survived by her brother John O Torpey (Miriam), Las Vegas, brothers David Eldridge, Blacklick, Ohio, and Larry Eldridge (Nancy), Newport ,Washington; Nieces Emily DiBartolomeo (Jeff) and Erin DeGracia (Ernesto) and neices and nephews Tina Magoon (Paul) , Jodie Eldridge, Katie Eldridge, Kristen Eldridge , Rob Eldridge (Christine), David Eldridge Jr. (Stephanie) and Eric Eldridge (Adrienne).

Sue’s positive and outgoing nature and infectious laughter will be remembered by all who knew her.
