Tance Lee Gray

Tance Lee Gray, a gentle kind spirit transitioned peacefully at home on September 12, 2017 at the age of 99. She was born December 9, 1917 in Charleston, Mississippi to Register and Rosie Lee. Tance was one of twelve children and she was the last to pass. Tance was a devoted wife, a loving mother of one, a supportive grandmother of eight, a caring great – grandmother of nineteen, a fun-loving great-great-grandmother, and a dear friend. She was a woman who loved a clean and tidy home. She also enjoyed baking and cooking, and she was known for making a delectable sweet potato pie. When Tance wasn’t baking or cleaning, she would travel with her husband of her girlfriends. Some of her travels included various cruises with her friends, a trip to Hawaii, cross country road trips with her husband to Michigan, Mississippi, Arkansas, and New York, and some international trips which were to Mexico, Jamaica, and other parts of the Caribbean. Tance and the late Jesse Gray were married for 69 years and had retired to Las Vegas in 1994. Tance was a long time member of Mountaintop Faith Ministries in Las Vegas, NV for more than 20 years as the Mother of the church and a deaconess. Tance was also preceded in death by her parents; eleven siblings; and her only child, Donnell Anthony, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory, her eight grandchildren, Donnell Anthony, Jr., Marc Anthony (Deenay), Eugene Garland, Jamal Anthony (Jessica), Olivia Wood (Dave), Linda Anthony, Cheryle Clark (Maurice) and Robyn Anthony. A visitation will be September 20th from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Palm South Jones Mortuary, 1600 S Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146. The funeral service will be September 21st at 11:00am at Mountaintop Faith Ministries, 2845 Lindell Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89146. Tance will be laid to rest at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr., Boulder City, NV 89005.
