Terry Rogers was born July 31, 1939 in Omaha, NE. He had two brothers, Johnny and Randy, and two sisters, Kay and Sue. He lived in the housing projects of Omaha until the age of 12 when he began attending Boy’s Town. He graduated from Boy’s Town in 1957 and started a career as a carpenter. He met Evelyn Boese and they married in 1958. They raised three sons together; Steve, Brian and Bruce. They relocated to Norfolk, NE where he began a new career as a Nebraska State Patrolman. He was stationed there for his entire career. His marriage to Evelyn lasted 28 years before they divorced. He retired from the Nebraska State Patrol several years later.
The next stage of Terry’s life started when he had the good fortune of meeting Norma Sybesma. Terry and Norma were married in 1995 in Honolulu, HI. Norma’s children, Jill and Clark, were welcomed into the family with open arms. After his retirement, Norma and Terry relocated to Las Vegas NV where they enjoyed their new life together and lived happily for 13 years. Sadly, Norma passed away in 2008. Terry remained by her side to the end.
Terry spent his life as a good and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a good friend, a helping neighbor, and was known for his hospitality. His passion for Native American culture & art, woodworking and the outdoors lasted his entire life. He leaves behind the legacy of 5 children, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He will be sorely missed by family and friends alike.
