Thomas Ervin Patton

Thomas (Tom) Patton passed away at the age of 88 on Tuesday January 28, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on October 14, 1936 to Ervin and Catherine (Dooley) Patton.

Tom graduated from Meyer’s High School in Wilkes-Barre, PA in 1956. After pursuing college he entered the Army in 1959 serving in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1965. Tom then entered the workforce in the Transportation industry where he spent his entire career. He worked in New York and Washington DC before retiring back in the Wilkes-Barre area. He did some post retirement work for Luzerne County Department of Transportation. Later, he and his wife Lois would relocate to Las Vegas in 2002 to live out the rest of his years enjoying the warm weather, casinos, and his grandkids.

Tom was married to Lois (Price) Patton on April 15, 1967. They had two children: Thomas Ervin Patton Jr. and Kathryn Marie (Patton) Garlan.

Tom is survived by his loving wife Lois, his two children, and six loving grandchildren; his son Tom and wife Christine and children Sean, Julie and Megan all in Pennsylvania and Kathryn and Josiah (Garlan) and children Ashley, Austin and Josiah in Las Vegas, Nevada; a brother Edward (Ted) Patton and wife Rosalie. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and friends that he remained in contact with over the years.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a future date at Holy Spirit Catholic Church where Tom was a regular supporter. Additionally, a service will be scheduled with the Veteran’s association to celebrate his service.
