He was born to the union of Ulysses Edwin Champagne, Sr, and Nancy Markey Champagne, on January 25, 1942, in New Orleans, LA. He was the brother of Carolyn (Champagne) Jackson and Clyde Champagne; and step father to Kenneth Champagne, all preceding him in death.
Ulysses was educated in Louisiana before enlisting in the United States Air Force, serving eight years honorably as a Fuel Specialist, prior to a career in petroleum.
Ulysses enjoyed car shows, westerns, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years Betty Champagne; his daughter, Danielle Champagne; his grandson, Matthew Murrary; his stepson, Darren Champagne; and step grandson, Jordan Champagne; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ulysses will be remembered for the unwavering dedication, love, and protection he gave his family.
