I am an Artist

I wonder if the world could be better

I hear the sad cries and the joyful laughs

I see the tears people shed, and the smiles people wear

I want the world to accept differences

I pretend the world is perfect, even though it is not

I feel sadness and joy, like everyone else

I touch my heart to find the good, when all is bad

I worry that nobody will remember me

I cry when something hurts, as all others do, too

I understand that people are different

I say to let them be

I dream that everyone will accept me for who I am

I try to make people see the light in the dark
