It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bill Busse, who left us peacefully at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 19th, surrounded by his immediate family at Spring Valley Hospital. Bill is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 67 years, Connie Busse, and their children: Lorie Albanese, Janeil Seech, Cindy Petty, and Carl Busse. Bill was also preceded in death by his beloved son, Jeffery Busse. He will be deeply missed by his five grandchildren: Chris Grover, Donald Luke, Jennifer Busse-Nieves, Trevor Grover, and Jared Luke, as well as his Great-granddaughter, Amelia Sage Nieves.
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1940, Bill was raised by his loving mother, Louise Bowman, who was a constant source of support and love throughout his life. Bill and Connie were married in 1956, beginning a beautiful and enduring love story that spanned over six decades. In 1960 they moved to Las Vegas, where they built their life together.
Bill began his career as a Sheet Metal Apprentice, eventually becoming a skilled Journeyman. His adventurous spirit led him to become a licensed pilot for a time, but it was in Hot Air Ballooning that he truly found his passion, becoming the first licensed balloonist in Nevada. Bill and Connie went on to co-found Air Systems Incorporated, a successful HVAC manufacturing and wholesale business in 1981, which they ran with dedication and commitment until their retirement in 2015.
Throughout his life, Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was respected by his business peers and beloved by all who knew him. Bill’s kindness, work ethic, and steady presence left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him. He and his family enjoyed their cabin in Panguitch, Utah where Bill loved fishing and snowmobiling.
Bill will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace, and may his family find comfort in the love and memories they shared. Our thoughts and prayers are with Connie, their children, grandchildren, great-grandchild and all who mourn his loss. May God bless Bill and surround family and friends with peace and strength during this difficult time.
Bill will be cremated per his request, and the family will be remembering him in a private ceremony. Bill preferred no services or flowers but would rather have you support the Nevada SPCA in his honor.
