

William Patrick Flynn also known as “Bill” & “Pop Bill “passed away at the age of 90 in Las Vegas Nevada on January 7th, 2025, at Spring Valley Hospital.
He was born on September 26, 1934, in Bronx New York to Michael & Margaret Flynn. His siblings are his two brothers Frank and James and his sister Eleanor. He attended St Luke’s elementary school and Cardinal Hayes High school in the Bronx. He was proud to be an alum of Cardinal Hayes where he would attend many functions and donate money to the school periodically. He loved baseball where he played throughout his younger years for several different leagues around New York mostly as a third baseman. He was a big fan of the New York Yankees throughout his life which trickled down to the rest of his family to this day. His second passion was boating where he had a boat most of his adult life on City Island in the Bronx. He was drafted into the army in 1952 where he spent 4 years in active duty and national guard mainly in Virginia. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant.
He spent most of his professional career in the transportation industry as a consultant at Atlas Traffic Consultants in College Point Queens.
He married Nelly on May 6th, 1972, in Bronx New York the love of his life. They were married for 51 years until Nelly’s passing in 2023. They had one son Edward who they are both survived by along with his wife Christine and their children Michael & Sophia. He was a devote catholic where he would attend services every Sunday and holy days of obligation.
He was a true New Yorker through and through living practically his whole life in the Bronx. He was a proud man for his accomplishments but more importantly his family. He loved his grandchildren unconditional and would do everything he could to spoil them, and they enjoyed every minute of it. He always put himself last even when his health wasn’t the greatest. He left the life he knew in New York to move to Las Vegas in 2020 for the family to care for Nelly who was battling a brain tumor at the time. This gave him the opportunity to spend more time with his family on a frequent basis.
The services will be held Friday January 31st at Palm Mortuary located at 7400 W Cheyenne Ave Las Vegas, NV 89129 from 4:15-5:30. Phone number is 702 464-8480.
