William (Bill) Jay Kissell, age 71, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on December 11, 2022. Bill was born in Grand Junction, Colorado on March 16, 1951 to Clarence and Virginia Kissell. His family had a peach orchard and he grew up picking peaches. Peaches were still his favorite fruit!
He graduated from Central High School and Mesa College. Mr. Kissell served in the Navy from 1971-1977 and was a Vietnam veteran. This is where he became interested in information technology (IT). In 1981, he married Joyce Juszynski and together they raised three children.
The couple and their two oldest children moved to Las Vegas in 1982. He owned and operated his own IT business and later joined the Terrible Herbst team where he last served as Chief Information Officer. After 35 years at Terrible’s, Bill retired in 2021. His passion was watching westerns, especially the Lone Ranger, and sports. His favorite teams were the Vegas Golden Knights, the Denver Broncos, the Los Angeles Lakers, Las Vegas Aces and college basketball and football. Along with his wife, Joyce, he loved traveling and taking cruises, especially to Cabo San Lucas and their trip to Alaska.
William is survived by his wife; Joyce, daughters Michele Jones (Mark) and Stacie Kissell Waganer; brother Jerry Kissell (Jill) and sister Debbie DeWitt (Bernie); and five grandchildren: Justin Kissell, Phillip Adan, Amaya Waganer, Emily Jones and Evan Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Carole Jean Southerland and Wilma Mae Evans; and son Steven Jay Kissell (Terri).
