During her early years she attended school in Beaufort County, graduating from Robert Smalls High School in 1941.
With the desire to move on, she moved to New York City.
Upon arriving there, she attended a variety of schools to obtain the necessary knowledge required for on the job progress. She also joined the Mt Olive Baptist Church.
Mrs. Quick was employed with Blue Cross/Blue Shield for thirty three years, most of which she was in the management capacity. She encouraged many young persons on her staff to continue their education. Her warm and friendly manner attracted friends. She was always willing to help whenever she was needed.
