
At an early age she gained a love and passion for cooking, gardening and sewing. She was a honors graduate of historic Burt High School Clarksville Tennessee .
J.B Boyd and Artelia were married in 1951 and raised a family of seven children. As a means to help support and provide for her immediate and extended family, Artelia worked various jobs from catering food for parties, sewing clothes for special occasions, and housekeeping. As the ultimate display of patience’s and love , Artelia worked as a Special Education Teachers Aide for the Clarksville Montgomery County School System for over 35 years.
In the summer of 1982 Artelia was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witness. Her love for Jehovah and his kingdom caused her to take an early retirement so that she could become a lifetime pioneer. Later she met and married Anton Cole where together they continue as full time minister for Jehova.
Artelia was very instrumental, hands on ,and the ultimate giver to not only her children but also to grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her loving smile, warm and giving heart caused her to never meet a stranger. She had genuine love of people and people loved her in return causing her to be called GRANNY and MOM by many.
She is proceeded in death by brothers Vernal and Leonard Johnson; sisters Meleann Tyler and Betty Jones; daughter Tujuana Scott; granddaughter Sasha Boyd and great grandson Terrance Swinton. She is survived by sisters Marie Reeves and Mary Coleman. Children Jeanine (Michael) Flagg of Atlanta, Georgia, Jeffery Boyd of Clarksville Tennessee, Valeria and Carol Boyd of Atlanta Georgia, LeeAndre (Jensy) Boyd of Jacksonville Florida, Kimball (Nikki) Boyd of Atlanta, Georgia and Eighteen grandchildren and Sixteen great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephew and other relatives. She will eternally be loved and missed
