

Barbara Jeane Carmichael Barr was born in Arkansas City, Kansas September 30th, 1918. She was born into a hard-working farming family. She carried those values and lessons with her and taught them to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Helen (Bambi) Dabbs, Bonita Jan Barr Jones her husband Kerry, and Arthur C (Pete) Barr, Jr and his wife Maureen. Her grandchildren Brenda Wingate and her husband Franki, Daniel Arthur Dabbs, Christopher Barr and his wife Dominique, Alexander Barr and Kathryn Barr. She was also blessed with Great Grandchildren, Logan Dabbs, Nic and Austin Lane, and Danyl and AJ Barr. She is predeceased by Arthur C. Barr, Sr her husband of 47 years. She felt her family was her greatest achievement.
Barbara was an officer serving during WWII in the Army Air Corp both leading troops at Patterson Field in Colorado Springs and serving as a recruiter touring throughout the Midwest.
She was a working mother and wife throughout her marriage. As a clinical dietitian, she worked in the hospitals and school environments always striving to creatively find ways to provide nutritional recipes that tasted great. When her husband transferred to Okinawa Japan, she and the children accompanied him and with her focus and support allowed for international education and experiences.
