Duc Phung

Duc is survived by his wife, Thanh Thi Patterson; children, Phung Thi Phuong Linh, Thom-son Patterson, Phung Van Tan, Melissa Patterson, Lien Phung, Tracey Glass, Sopari Phung, Nearipol Loc; His siblings, Thanh Phung, Le Thi Than Thuy (sister in law) and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Duc is preceded in death by his father Phung Van Le and his mother Nguyen Thi Bich, his brother Phung Van Dang, his sister Phung Thi Lun and is daughter Phung Thi Phung

Duc was born on September 12, 1952, in Ba-Ria, Vietnam to Le and Bich. He married Thanh, the love of his life. They shared a wonderful real-life romance story that began with her lending him $30 dollars and in return, he promised to repay her with 30 years of loving devotion.

After immigrating to America, Duc worked as a nail technician for over 25 years. Throughout their marriage, Duc and Thanh welcomed a blended family of children into their home. Duc children remember him as a kind, gentle and a patient father who encouraged them to pursue their goals and dreams.

Though Duc was a quiet man, he would often steal the show at family events when broke into song revealing that he was a talented singer. Duc was known by all to be generous and dedicated. He spent his free time fishing and gardening with Thanh. Duc also enjoyed eating fat steaks and never missed a chance to eat at a buffet. Most of all, Duc was passionate about family. Duc is affectionately remembered by his family as a man of little words but big in actions. He honorably provided for his family assuring they were never in need.

Duc’s funeral is scheduled for October 14, 2018, from 11 am and 2 pm at Advantage Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 500 Harbins Road, Lilburn GA. 30047 with a reception to follow. Buddhist Monks will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Duc’s life.
