Frances Sinex, who passed away on October 7, 2011, lived a full life, enjoyed traveling frequently with her husband Charles, and relished her roles as mother, grandmother, and recently great grandmother.
She was born on February 5, 1919 and was named Frances Lorraine Fleming by her parents Pearl and Roy Fleming of Ft. Worth, TX. Her husband Charles was also born in Texas, in Dallas. They met in Ft. Worth while attending a mutual friend’s wedding, and they married on August 24,1941. She and Charles shared a loving marriage that lasted 65 years before he passed away in 2006. While Charles served in the military during WW II Fran completed her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Texas Christian University. After the war, Charles stayed in the military and joined the newly created Air Force. They moved frequently as his assignments changed, finally settling in Virginia Beach in 1974.
Fran and Charles were indeed world travelers, having visited many countries and even taking a trip around the world. Fran also loved to read and volunteered in a program that helped adults learn to read. She and Charles served Meals on Wheels to seniors for many years through their affiliation with the Virginia Beach First Christian Church. She had a green thumb and could make any plant thrive. She was also a talented seamstress and sewed many lovely outfits for her daughter and granddaughters. She was full of energy and always had great practical suggestions on how to fix anything
Fran and Charles had 2 children, Chuck Sinex who lives in Moneta, VA, with his wife Pam, and Pam Subalusky, who lives with her husband Bill in Roswell, Ga. They also had two grandchildren whom they adored, Leah Madamba of Asheville, NC and Amanda Subalusky of New Haven, CT. Recently Fran was thrilled to become a great grandmother with the birth of William and Ava Madamba.
Fran with be greatly missed by her family and friends.
