George L. Garrow

George was born to parents George L. and Sophie Ciempa Garrow in Ludlow, MA. He grew up as the youngest of three and attended Ludlow High School where he earned seven varsity letters in football, baseball and basketball.

After high school, George served with the 1st Calvary Division in the Far East during the Korean War. He married Carol Gillette Garrow, his wife of 52 years. During his career, George served as a police officer, detective, and in the juvenile bureau in Hialeah FL, before retiring from the Probation dept. in Georgia.

In his golden years, George loved spending time with his tennis buddies, happy hour with his friends and time enjoying his “adopted” grandchildren.

George is survived by his wife Carol; five nieces, Cheryl (Bill) Case of Sterling VA, Patti (Jim) Messier of Winchendon MA, Amy (Mark) Condon of Ludlow MA, Leslie (John) Furbush of Deland FL, and Darlene (Pete) Kreischer of San Diego CA. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Sophie; his sisters, Jean Henriques and Jan Cunningham.

George was known for his quick wit and dry sense of humor. He will certainly be missed by all that knew him.
