At a young age, Henry and his family moved to Columbus, Mississippi. He graduated from Stephen D. Lee High School and studied at East Mississippi Junior College and Delta State University.
A son to the late Hubert Elmer Barnhill and Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Anders Barnhill, Henry and his family moved to Marietta, Georgia in 1989. He is survived by three children, Meredith Barnhill of Acworth, Dane (Boone) Holcomb of Woodstock and Gray Barnhill of Atlanta, former spouse, Cheryl Cummings Barnhill as well as three grandchildren, Hayes, Bo and Henry Holcomb.
He also leaves behind six brothers and sisters: Hubert E. Barnhill Jr. of Marietta, Vicky (Benny) Williamson of Kennesaw, Harold (Gail) Barnhill of Columbus, Mississippi, Patsy (Gary) Hedrick of Marietta, Harry (Joan) Barnhill of Marietta, and Barbara (Billy) Buxton of Columbus, Mississippi.
