

Junior A. Pavik, our energetic superhero, and Knight in Shining Armor who always had a smile on his face and possessed the biggest heart for others, left this world to meet his Savior. Junior was the first born to Albert and Mary Pavik on the family farm in Pocahontas, Iowa where he learned the importance of hard work, character, love of God, family and country. He excelled academically and earned degrees in civil engineering and meteorology from Iowa State and Penn State Universities. In 1953, he married the love of his life Marilee Dolph. He served our country for over 40 years, first as a pilot in the United States Air Force where his service included the Vietnam War and other conflicts around the world. After retiring from the Air Force, he joined and also retired from the Army Corps of Engineers.
Junior was the living example of a servant leader, always putting others first and volunteering to help in any effort or project. His spirit was shared with many people and organizations including the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, AARP Tax Assistance Program, Marriage Encounter. and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. His faith was his foundation and he was an active member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church where he was a lay minister, Oblate of St. Benedict, RCIA sponsor, Knight of Columbus, Cursillo, and Small Christian Communities.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marilee and his four children: John and wife Morena, Steve and wife Maureen, Anne and husband David, Mary Beth and husband Tim as well as 13 grandchildren and 7 great - grandchildren. Brothers: Malvin and wife Jan, Alvin and wife Ann, Vince and wife Betty, John and wife Mary Sue and brother in law, Tom Sullivan. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Albert and Mary Pavik and sister, Judy Sullivan. Junior has many nieces and nephews that love him dearly.
The Celebration Mass for Junior will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 1:00 PM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. The inurnment will be at Honey Creek Woodlands Cemetery at 4:00 PM, all are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, Dad would rather a donation be made to the St. Lawrence Catholic Church Building Fund or the Junior A. Pavik Scholarship Fund, Gwinnett Tech Foundation, 5150 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville, GA 30043.
