A remarkable human being, she was loved by all and never met a stranger. Her smile and personality lit up every room she entered. She was the kind of friend we all wished for, making everyone feel loved and welcomed. A world traveler, she had visited all seven continents. She was always up for an adventure and found joy in unexpected places. A teacher for 34 years, she taught in Glynn County, Tulsa Public Schools, Marietta City Schools, and at Arcado Elementary in Gwinnett County, where she was recognized as a Teacher of the Year. However, she was also an educator beyond the classroom walls, spending most of her life teaching us all how to love life and to love each other better.
A Celebration of Life for Laura will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Venue at Friendship Springs in Flowery Branch. Attendees are asked to wear bright, cheery colors to recognize the color and beauty that she added to all of our lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Laura's honor to Eagle Ranch https://www.eagleranch.org/memorial-gift or to P.O. Box 7200, Chestnut Mountain, GA 30502
