He was a graduate of Ridgewood High School. Art remained loyal to the Class of 1961 organizing class reunions, including the most recent 60th reunion. Following high school, Art received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Penn State University, followed by a two year stint in the US Army. After his time in the Army, Art began his career at Ford Motor Company, first in Detroit and then in New Jersey. One fateful day, Art was convinced by one of his roommates to go on a blind date with Linda Gunst. They married on July 9, 1977 in Ridgefield, CT.
After working at the Ford Motor Company for 20 years, Art made the move to Subaru Distributors Corp as their director of corporate services, where he worked until retirement. Having enjoyed the ocean and sailing throughout his life, it was no surprise that following retirement, he and Linda moved from Redding, CT, to Land O’ Lakes, FL. They lived in Land O’ Lakes for 12 years before moving to Hudson, FL. After three years in Hudson, the two followed his sister to the coast of South Carolina in 2020 making Little River their forever home.
A genealogist and true Scotsman, Art was proud of his Scottish heritage and was known to enjoy a good scotch or red wine. He was a talented artist, painting beautiful pictures and writing short stories about his childhood. He also enjoyed playing Canasta and being around good company. Art had a love of dogs, and his two Havanese pups, Abbie and Lizzie gave him great joy.
Art was predeceased by his sister Nancy Stuff and both his parents. Surviving in addition to his wife of 46 years, Linda, are her sons, Rob Stuff (wife, Leanne) and Jason Stuff. Art is also survived by his sister, Mary Argondizzo.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Lee Funeral Home and Crematory, 11840 Highway 90, Little River, SC 29566.
