Beatrice Frances Sullivan Bailey, 79, surrounded by her husband John Bailey and her loving friends, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2023. Beatrice, aka “Bunny”, was born on February 9, 1944, the eldest of five daughters of the late Ralph and Beatrice (Nacey) Sullivan of Gloucester, NJ. Bunny was a graduate of the class of 1962 from Gloucester Catholic High School in Gloucester, NJ.
Prior to moving to North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Bunny worked in the banking industry. Bunny was one of the most generous, fun-loving people we knew. She loved spoiling her nieces, nephews and grand niece and nephews. In 2006, Gloucester Catholic High School awarded her the Thomas Stewart Award for her selfless commitment and extraordinary service by sending care packages to our US troops. Living in North Myrtle Beach with her husband John, she loved the beach, looking for shark’s teeth and shells, and dashing off to get an ice cream cone with her devoted friends and neighbors.
Bunny loved to crochet and was a member of the Ocean Drive Presbyterian Prayer Shawl Ministry making shawls for cancer victims, as well as, crocheting hats for newborn babies. She also loved to volunteer at the local pet shelter.
Bunny will be deeply missed by her husband John, and sisters Patricia Sullivan Probst (John), Kathleen Sullivan Watson (James), Margaret Sullivan, Susan Sullivan Lyons, her niece Jennifer Probst (Brandon Rabinowitz), nephews James (Katie) Watson, Jeffrey Watson, Mark Sullivan and grand niece and nephews and the countless friends whose lives she has touched.
In Bunny’s memory, donations may be made to her alma mater, Gloucester Catholic High School, 333 Ridgeway St, Gloucester City, NJ 08030, please write in memo, Beatrice F. Bailey, or The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach, 409 Bay Street, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582.
