I had the pleasure of having Brian as my intern at Conway High. He had the ability to connect with all students and to get them to push for excellence.  It is evident by  the remarks of his students that he was a wonderful teacher.  I’m praying for his  family and students.  

Brian was my classmate at CCU. He was an amazing, upbeat person who possessed a passion for history. It warms my heart to know that he was able to carry out his teaching career before the event of his demise. My condolences to his loved ones. You all are in my prayers. 

Mr. G was one of the best teachers I have ever had. Coming from a different school he always made me feel welcomed and I could have a conversation with him whether it was about school or life in general. His passion for history and his fun lessons made me enjoy learning and made it easy for me to remember. I will miss saying hey everyday as I walk by your classroom. Sending prayers to your family and everyone affected. 

I am still in shock at the loss of Brian. He was taken from us way too soon. During Brian’s time at HGTC I had the opportunity to teach him in multiple education classes and also be his advisor. Since that time we have stayed in touch as he has updated me on his journey as a teacher. Reading these posts from his students makes me smile. I knew he would be a wonderful teacher, and he was. During his short time as a teacher, God used him in an amazing way to reach young people and touch their lives. What a legacy! 
Brian also often spoke of his great love for his wife and daughter. I am praying for their peace and comfort during this unimaginably difficult time. 
I am thankful I knew Brian and played a small role in his journey. 

Brian was an amazing person and I am deeply saddened he has left us. I remembered taking many classes with Brian at Coastal and he was always such a nice thoughtful person to everyone. I remembered having many conversations and laughs in class with him and he always brightened my day like he did many others. He will be missed by many and I'm simply grateful to have met him. I send my condolences to his family and close friends. Rest in peace, Brian. 

Mr G was honestly the best teacher you could ask for. I’ve known him since I was a freshman when he was a student teacher and I’m now a junior in his class. Just by his personality I could tell he would be a great teacher, and when I saw I had him this year I was thrilled. Mr G. Was a teacher I felt I shared a personality with, I could talk to him about everything. He made school fun again and I’ll never forget that. He helped me so much and helped me learn so much about history. I’ll miss him forever and third block isn’t the same without him. He never failed to make me smile. My thoughts and prayers  go out to his family and friends. By far the best teacher I’ve had. Fly High Mr G.  

Brian was a dear friend of mine through college and the MAT program. We shared so many common interests and ideas and had so much fun. Without my New York buddy the program would have been so different.. I miss him so much. He was truly a leader, someone to look up too..  a person who never gave up in the face of anything... I send my love to his family and the people who he knew..

He was the only teacher I actually felt like I had a personal relationship with. He’s always been that funny cool teacher I looked forward to see at the end of the day. He never held back with his story’s and I appreciated that. He never treated us as little kids and censored stuff. He made everything interesting and real, you actually understood and cared about what he was saying. He was passionate person and I will remember him. I Thank him for just being him. A good guy.

I’m sorry for your loss, Mr G was a loving, caring and funny teacher; his presence was always felt and loved. The CF students enjoyed MR G  while we had him, an absolutely outstanding history teacher.  He put his students first to make sure they passed grade wise, he was like a father to most of us. Thank you for sharing him with us. You guys are in my prayers and we love you guys! He will be truly missed. 

Thank you so much for simply being you, Brian. I can remember our countless conversations at the pool and I will never forget the excitement as you started your journey towards becoming a teacher. Your passion and enthusiasm was, and always will be, contagious and you have touched more lives than you will ever know. May your soul Rest In Peace and family be guided through this time. You will be missed, Brian.  You inspired me with your humbleness, your desire to connect with all students (regardless of whether or not they were your own),  as well as your commitment &  passion for teaching.  May you truly rest in peace and may all your loved ones find comfort in wonderful memories.

My thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family during this time.  He was an inspiration to both students and colleagues.  CFHS was blessed when he joined our school family and will not be the same without his passion for history and willingness to reach each and every student as if they were his own. Mr. G was one of my favorite teachers. He always kept it real and told the truth to you no matter what. He was one of the only people who really understood me. He taught me during his first year at Carolina Forest. He was one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. He always made sure that I understood any and everything he was teaching, he made history fun and easy to remember. He was also one who you could talk to about everything, and he actually genuinely cared about his students. He was the coolest teacher I’ve ever met, he always kept up with and wore the newest Jordans that came out. I’m going to miss walking past your classroom and talking to you every morning. Just before break, I said “Alright Mr. G see you next year”. This just feels so surreal. You will forever be in my heart. R.i.p Mr. G

It's unbelievable how I had just said good morning to you before break. I used to work with you at Myrtle Waves and we were lifeguards. You assigned me to my station almost everyday. You were different from other leads at the park. You were funny, cracked jokes, talked about your goals and ambitions. We had a lot of good conversations and memories together. You had mentioned you were going to start teaching at Carolina Forest then before I knew it I had you as a teacher. I was your second class in your first year of teaching. You were one of the best teachers I had and the funniest. You'd go out of your way to teach for us when your wife was sick. You always talked good about her and how much you loved and cared for her and your kids too. You used to play music you liked in free time we had during class and joke around about how cool I was trying to be. I used to brag to other class mates about how you and I worked together and how great of a guy you are. You believed no matter how old you get you can always bounce back. You were so optimistic about your goals and you inspired me to keep trying. In a way you had a rebellious spirt, always teaching us the way you wanted to instead of by the book. You had to crunch in all those days of teaching due to the hurricane and you did it your first year. You were truly inspiring and I looked up to you. Thank you so much for everything you've left behind. You had a big impact on me in my high school career and I wish I was more open with you. I hope your family knows so many of us loved you. Rest easy Mr. G.

Prayers and condolences to the Gennarelli family and friends of Brian Gennarelli.  Brian was such a pleasant and kind person. He was always good to communicate with telling you "hello" and asking how you are doing.  He was passionate about teaching and his role as an educator. Brian had a positive impact on the Carolina Forest High School students, faculty, and staff he came in contact with. Brian will be greatly missed. Rest in peace.

I have known Brian for the short time he's been at Carolina Forest High School. I did, however, see him almost every day. Brian was always pleasant to talk with and always had a smile for you. So sorry to see you go young man. You will be missed.

Brother, I just want to say I love you man. You’ve taught me so much through the time we’ve known each other. You’ve been such a good friend to me. I just want to say that I will miss you so much. I’ll miss the cut ups in the gym, I’ll miss the beach services mishaps we had together, and most of all I’ll miss the life you’d bring to a room full of friends. Save a seat up there buddy. Brian, reading the beautiful testimonies of these young students that you’ve  touched, makes me smile.  I know your family is so proud of you and I hope that each and every one of these students’ words brings some form of comfort.  I will always treasure our conversations and your uncanny ability to bring a smile to my face and much needed laughter in my life! God’s speed my friend! Mr G. was one of the best teachers I have ever had and I couldn’t be more appreciative of him as a person in my life. My favorite thing about him was that he always cared for his students on a personal level and really wished the best for us. He enjoyed teaching us in ways that other teachers didn’t and always made the classroom unique.
Personally, Mr G. was like another father to me and we loved to talk about football and racing during lunch all the time. I will forever cherish the relationship I was able to build with him as his student and former student of his.
I hope the Gennarelli family and everyone else affected by this unfortunate loss can find closure soon.

Mr. Gennarelli was one of the best teachers at Carolina Forest high school. He was a really passionate teacher who really cared about his students and helped them in anyway possible.  He would always tell us story’s of his past and when he lived in New York. He was one of your most favorite teachers and he will truly be missed by all his students. 

I remember I used to pop in his class everyday and started joking around with him after 1st block never was in a class for a semester but still called him my teacher because any of question I had he always would answer going to miss you a lot!

Dear Mr. G, you have been an amazing teacher and im glad to have met you freshman year. You tell me good morning to me everyday and ask me how i am and i really just appreciate everything you have done. You have had such an impact on the school and its sad to see you go. Mr. Gennarelli wasn't like other teachers. He actually cared about his students, he made us laugh, taught us in ways we could understand best, related to us, and he told the best stories. He was very understanding and made the world a better place. 

Mr.G, we will all miss you so much. Thank you for being there for me every day freshman year, and up until now. Thank you for helping me get diagnosed with Crohn's disease, and being there for me when I was really sick. Thank you for asking me how I was every day and letting me open up to you. You were truly an amazing man, I will miss you so much. We love you, rest in peace to the best teacher I've ever had.
