Carolyn B. Shores

Carolyn Bost Shores, 84, died June 26, 2018 at the home of her daughter Ann M. Shores in North Myrtle Beach, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 3, 1934 in Kannapolis, NC, she was the daughter of the late Allen Bevard and Margaret Louise Rhyne Bost. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Jack W. Shores; a daughter, Jana C. Shores; one brother and 4 sisters.

Mrs. Shores is survived by two sons, Jeffrey L. Shores and his children, Jason and Ian, Christopher W. Shores, his wife, Cindy and their children, Brock and Whitney, and one daughter; Ann M. Shores. Additional grandchildren include, Lea Hudson and Andrew DesForges; one great grandchild Jana; one brother, Buddy Bost; three sisters, Sarah Bost, Beverly Miller, Bette Wishon.

In her earlier years, Mrs. Shores was a teacher’s aide at Winecoff School, then joined Citizens National/First Charter Bank until retirement. After retirement Carolyn was an avid cake baker for the community. She was a very faithful member at New Gilead Reformed Church and Epworth United Methodist Church. She was active in many groups and activities. Her beautiful voice was a true asset to any choir and was, above all, her favorite passion.

The family will receive friends from 2 - 3pm on July 8th in the sanctuary at New Gilead Reformed Church in Concord NC. A memorial service will follow at 3pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolinas.
