Catherine Lacey

Born on November 6, 1941, in New York, NY, Catherine was the beloved daughter of the late Charles and Mary Ryan. She was the devoted wife of 59 years to the late Maurice “Marty” Lacey.

A lifelong Catholic, Catherine was a dedicated member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church and actively involved in the St. Brigid Division of the Horry County Chapter of the Ladies Ancient Order of the Hibernians.

Catherine worked as a registered nurse in Labor and Delivery at Nyack Hospital for over 25 years. Catherine and her husband Marty were co~owners of Shenanigans Bar and Grill in Nanuet, NY. After retiring in 1998, she and Marty relocated to North Myrtle Beach, drawn by the warm weather and the nearby beaches. Shortly after settling in, Catherine quickly became an integral part of her new community, forming lifelong friendships and continuing to care for others as she always had.

Though officially retired, Catherine’s heart for service never waned—she was always ready to lend a helping hand to neighbors, whom she cherished like family. She found great joy in simple pleasures: spending time with loved ones, relaxing at the beach, and tending to her garden.

Catherine will be remembered for her compassion, her unwavering faith, and the warmth she brought to everyone she met.

Catherine is survived by her son Michael (wife Susan); daughters Donna Watt (husband Doug) and Trish Harris (husband Tim); grandchildren Michael, Brittany (Charlie Smith) and Ryan Lacey (wife Ashley), Dillon (wife Lindsay) and Dustin Watt (Whitney Bryant), Tara, Kate and Kelly Harris; great-grandchildren Jayla, Kylie, Makenzie and Kennedy Lacey (Ryan), Avery, Brynn and Beau Watt (Dillon) and Navy, Jane and Clyde Watt (Dustin).

A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11:00 on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
